We went out last night (along with the rest of the fashion world) and celebrated the launch of our new pop-up shop with Nordstrom. The most dapper dudes in the city joined us, from Aziz Ansari to the almighty Nick Wooster. Even our new fashion week intern Rajon Rondo (and his NBA buddies Russell Westbrook and Chris Bosh) got in on the action. Not a bad first day on the job, if we say so ourselves.

Six Things We Learned Last Night @ The amFAR Gala
Every year, amFAR, a prominent AIDS-research non-profit, throws a fashion-y bash in Manhattan called Inspiration to celebrate the men’s style world and raise money for a cure. It’s flashy and grand and, quite literally, a gay ole time. This year was no exception. Case in point: James Franco, Liza Minnelli, and Jennifer Hudson shared oxygen. We had a good time and also learned a thing or two. We explain in numbers. A sample below. Read the full list here.

We learned…6. …that copper is “in”So copper stuff is apparently having a moment. During the event’s fashion show, about five models rocked accessories—ranging from hockey masks to shoulder pads— in the precious metal.5. …that Liza Minnelli is exactly like her Arrested Development characterBefore performing a couple songs her belated friend—and amFAR founder—Liz Taylor loved, the kooky icon gave a speech wherein she recalled several heart-felt memories of Liz and Rock Hudson and the rise of AIDS. And she did them with the same frenzied rhythm and clumsily endearing delivery that Lucille Austero would have. Even accidentally kicked the podium at one point with a resounding thud and twitchy apology. We liked.

We Went Out Last Night, Vol. 7

So GQ Tumblr is just now waking up in ass-cold Dallas after last night’s killer Super Bowl party, hosted by Andy Roddick and Terrell Owens, and we’re still rubbing the stars out of our eyes. We’re not the type to get all weak-kneed at the sight of celebs (they’re all so short!) but this party was a small room with some huge names. (Hey Ashton! Hey Demi! Hey Brooklyn! Hey Hayden! Hey… one of the Jonas Bros!) Close quarters. High wattage. And then that guy up there ambled in and blew the room off the place.

In the next few Tumblr posts, we’re gonna share a couple more photos from the party. But click through the images if you wanna see the whole batch.
